Amicus Europae Foundation was established by Aleksander Kwaśniewski in 2004. The so-called “presidential foundations” serve, worldwide, inter alia in the USA and in France, as a tool that enables to take advantage of the achievements, and to promote the accomplishments of persons holding the highest positions in the state (president and prime minister). They also offer a convenient platform for the former presidents to continue their public activity, building on their popularity and the customarily high levels of social trust, and to pursue honorable statutory objectives satisfying various types of contemporary needs.

The activity profiles of the former presidents’ foundations reflect, to a considerable degree, the priorities of their term in office, as well as the interests and the public activity-related aims of their founders. This is also the case with the Amicus Europae Foundation. Poland’s main achievements during the term in office of president Aleksander Kwaśniewski include the following: adoption of the Constitution of 1997, NATO and EU membership, establishment of close and good neighborhood relations within Central Europe, deepening of transatlantic cooperation, as well as progress in the process of reconciliation with Germany, Ukraine and the Jewish people.

The British Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (BUCC) was originally established in 1997 to promote trade and investment between the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Since then, it has broadened its approach significantly and now promotes business internationally between Ukraine and a wide range of regions including Europe, North and South America, the Far East and the Former Soviet Union. The Chamber is registered in the UK and carries out its activities principally in Kyiv and London.

The BUCC draws its membership from Ukrainian, British and international companies, organisations and individuals and this helps to ensure that the broadest spectrum of government, business and society is accessed both within Ukraine and abroad. This provides a unique opportunity to develop an understanding of business, commercial, trade and cultural issues between Ukraine and other countries and to address these issues in the promotion of multilateral relationships.

The British Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce brings together British and international companies and individuals wishing to focus on the Ukrainian market, and offers assistance to Ukrainian companies and individuals wishing to establish business, commercial and trade relationships in the United Kingdom and worldwide.

Assure that the U.S. business perspective, including the U.S. business community’s desire to contribute constructively to Ukraine’s vigorous market development, is understood within the Ukrainian public and private sectors;

Make U.S. business views known to the Government and private sector of Ukraine with respect to policies and legal, regulatory and other matters which bear significantly upon the willingness or ability of U.S. companies to trade with or invest in Ukraine;

Facilitate direct contacts between its members and senior Ukrainian Government and business leaders which foster the elimination of impediments to trade or investment or which otherwise can materially assist the realization of investment or trade opportunities. In support of its mission, the Council works closely with the full range of other organizations interested in supporting a growing commercial relationship between the United States and Ukraine.
